This Department 56 Christmas in the City Yankee Stadium captures the historic 1923 “House That Ruth Built” in wonderful detail. The stadium is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or broken pieces. One of the flags has chips along its top as shown in the last pictures. The house is complete. Comes with original box, sleeve, new old stock light cord as well. I noticed no chips aside from possibly a paint imperfection inside the house. See the close up of inside the window where the piano hangs. Nothing can touch that spot from the outside so I imagine it was done when made. This is by far the best example I’ve seen in a while. Well taken care of piece. The Dept 56 Christmas In The City Series “Hammerstein Piano Co” 799941 is a rare and complete collectible from 2008. This asymmetrical ceramic and porcelain piece features an interior subject suitable for Christmas decor. Part of the Christmas in the City collection by Department 56, this American-themed village house is painted and weighs 5 lbs. Sadly the inside lights do not come on. The fountain lights do work. See pictures of the bottom of building. Also, the tree is not the original tree for this set. Other than that it is in excellent condition.

This rare and delightful, hand-painted decoration will add a little mystery and a lot of Christmas cheer to your collection. Common to other listings of this same house, the paint on the awnings shows cracking. This Department 56 building comes with the original cordless lighting system and a bracket to allow a corded bulb. The original owner used the standard bulb bracket to connect the house to a multi-socket cord. As you can see, this kept the battery contacts in excellent condition. The side railing was broken but has been re-glued and is holding. Some of the paint flaked off this railing. Background trees not included.
