Up for your consideration is a very hard to find. Department 56 Christmas in the City. #59249 lighted building called “Woolworth’s” which was produced in 2005 and retired in 2008. Founded in 1879, Woolworth’s was one of the finest retail stores to merchandise items openly for customers to serve themselves. Design features include a 3-D interior lunch counter scene and iconic signage, fire escape, spires, chimney, and lantern. And as with all Department 56 buildings no details were sparred. Extensive research contributes to the charm and detail of each hand painted porcelain piece. The building measures 5 5/8″ long x 4 1/2″ wide x 10 tall. It comes in its original styrofoam box and Dept. 56 sleeve which does show some wear and tear. The building itself is in excellent condition without any chips or cracks. However, there is a tiny bit of paint loss around the front window casing (please see picture above). The original light cord and bulb are also included. Robin’s Vintage Finds.
