This is one of the most iconic buildings from New York, and this rendition of it is incredibly detailed and beautiful. The wedge shape of the building which maximized the use of the wedge shaped lot is captured perfectly in this piece. The trim pieces are still in the plastic bag they came in, and I have observed that many of the ones offered for sale here do not even show that they include these trim pieces. This was introduced along with the accessory “Let’s Get Out Of This Wind” which is also offered for sale today. It really doesn’t affect the desirability of this building, but I always want to be 100% accurate if I can. There is no damage of any kind on this piece. The only thing about this piece that isn’t absolutely mint is the sleeve, which has a little discoloration and wrinkling on the front from storage, and the Styrofoam box that is missing the interior braces. I tried to show the damage to the front of the sleeve, and I just couldn’t get it at the right angle, but I wanted to be accurate in my description. This piece was introduced in 2006 and retired in 2010. I often have the accessory that was created in conjunction with this building, and hopefully I have listed it as well. Dept 56 New EMPIRE STATE BUILDING Historical Landmark Series CIC #59207. Condition is New in box with all the plastic and papers. Only taken out of box cover for these photos… But not the Styrofoam. This is by far the biggest piece in my collection. The box stands 20 inches tall. Never taken out of the box. Still in all the plastic. Small issues with outer box… One corner has a partial tear (see pics) and on one side of the box there are 2 small puncture tears but the pieces are still intact. It came this way from the store. This is the most iconic building in this collection, and here is your chance to have one in absolutely pristine condition. It was still in the plastic overwrap that it came from the factory in. Naturally, it has never been displayed and was removed from the box for the first time to take these pictures. All of the lights were checked and work perfectly. The 4 flags are still in the bag they came in, and I didn’t want to remove them just for the picture and risk one getting misplaced. The top spire looks crooked in some of the pictures, but it is just a funny angle, because it is perfectly straight in real life. There is no damage of any kind on this piece. There is some minor damage to the box in a little bit of wrinkling on the top corners which you can see on the picture of the box, but I didn’t want to waste two of the pictures showing you close-up pictures of the damage when I thought you would rather see just how good the building looks! This piece was introduced in 2003 and retired in 2005. This is a very tall piece at 24 inches, and very heavy, and I intend to have it professionally packed for maximum safety, and fully insured to protect your investment as well as I can. Tested – top of tower can change color. Bulbs for interior light are new. Comes with box (box has flaws/tears). Comes with two small flags to put on outside of tower (believe there are supposed to be four). Tower is quite large, about two feet tall. Ive read where this is the tallest building made by Department 56, but cant confirm. Box is included but has wear and some tears. Introduced 2003 and retired in December 2005. It features several holiday lighting effects, including blueish/white, green and red colors in detachable top section that operate each color on or off on a 4 position pushbutton switch. There are 2 large white interior building bulbs and 8 yellow spotlights located around the top part of the bulding and shine up to illuminate the exterior.
