56 Christmas In The City #56.59207 Empire State Building. The building stands 23 1/2 inches high x 8 1/2 inches long x 6 inches wide. It has been displayed and is in very good condition. The paint is in good condition there are no chips or cracks. THE TOP SPIRE ONE OF THE PLASTIC MOUNTING TABS HAS BROKEN OFF AND IS STILL IN THE BASE, it still sets fine and is not noticeable if you have fine pliers you may be able to get it out and glue it back on but, as I said it still displays nicely. I have noticed that this is a common problem with this piece. It was retired in 2005. It has a button control that can change the top light from white to green or red. It is a great piece with wonderful detail that is hard to find. It does comes with the four little American flags. Also included is a information book about the Empire State building. The paper sleeve is complete there were two small tears near the top that have been taped with clear tape. The detail is really nice it is a must have piece for your Christmas in the city village display. Please check out the pictures! Check out my other auctions for more great Dept. 56 and other items! Christmas in the City. Building is in Excellent condition. Box does have some flaws from storage – please see pics. At 23.5 inches this is the tallest building manufactured by Department 56. It features several holiday lighting effects, including blueish/white, green and red colors in detachable top section that operate each color on or off on a 4 position pushbutton switch. There are 2 large white interior building bulbs and 8 very realistic yellow spotlights located around the top part of the bulding and shine up to illuminate the exterior. Empire State Building and Chrysler Building porcelain collectibles from. The Department 56 “Christmas in the City”. The Empire State Building is a rare piece – #56.59207 – is part of the Historical Landmark Series. It was introduced in 2003 and retired in 2005. It is in excellent condition – only displayed a few times. Only minor issue is a missing tab on bottom of tower but it still fits securely (see photo). The Chrysler Building, #4030342, was introduced more recently (2013) and is new in the box – never removed from packaging! Both have been stored in their original boxes and protective styrofoam, and include all original accessories. Please view all photos. This is the Dept 56 Christmas in the City Series “Empire State Building” Item 59207. The wrap on the light cord has never been undone. We did not want to unwrap a new piece just to test it and show it off. This is the LARGEST Department 56 piece ever made and it stands right at 24 tall. The top crystal pinacle can be lit red, green or white. There are three LEDS in the top under the pinnacle. This is the crown piece in any collection and a “must have” for the serious collector. This piece is VERY close to new in the box. The box does have a tear in one corner – see pic. We have a large collection of Dept 56 buildings, accessories and scenery. We will be listing them in the coming weeks. If Local Pick-up is offered it will be from Chesapeake, Va.
