Dept 56 New EMPIRE STATE BUILDING Historical Landmark Series CIC #59207. Condition is New in box with all the plastic and papers. Only taken out of box cover for these photos… But not the Styrofoam. This is by far the biggest piece in my collection. The box stands 20 inches tall. Never taken out of the box. Still in all the plastic. Small issues with outer box… One corner has a partial tear (see pics) and on one side of the box there are 2 small puncture tears but the pieces are still intact. It came this way from the store. It is in mint used condition with no chips or cracks and comes in its original box and packaging. It measures 27″ long, 5 1/4″ wide at it’s base, and is 10 1/2 tall. Dept 56 #56.59241. Introduced in Dec 2004 and retired in Dec 2006. Great addition to your collection. Excellent condition in original box, never displayed. This item is from a very large collection of Department 56 items that were very well cared for and many never displayed. All displayed items were inspected before being boxed up and any. Deficiencies or flaws noticed are noted in the condition notes above. The original owners did have a labrador retriever so there could be some light dander on the boxes or items, however, this collection was under plastic for the past few years and the owners kept the collection very clean. That some of the pictures on the Department 56 boxes show the figures or items with accessories (trees, snow, etc) that may not be included. Please see the pictures and ask any questions you may have before purchasing. Also, we do offer. In some cases but it depends on the size and weight of items. Department 56 was founded in 1976. Originally, it was part of Bachman’s, a retail florist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bachman’s employed a numbering system to identify each of its departments. The number assigned to the wholesale gift imports division was 56. He was a talented employee of Bachman’s who won the Minnesota State Florist Association’s 1964 Designer of the Year competition. Bazinet was a 1996 Gift for Life honoree for his support to HIV/AIDS research, education, prevention, and treatment. In 2005, after purchasing Lenox from Brown-Forman, the company changed its name to “Lenox Group Inc” and its ticker symbol to “LNX”. Lenox filed for bankruptcy in 2009, and was acquired by the private equity firm Clarion Capital Partners. Enesco acquired Department 56 from Lenox that year. The Egg Nog Pub. Department 56 has been headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota since June 25, 1991. As of May 2015, the company had about 30 employees, and its sales had grown seven to eleven percent per year over the prior four years. About two-thirds of sales are via smaller gift and Christmas shops, but the most recent growth has been through national retail stores, with Amazon also among the biggest customers.
