Department 56, Christmas in the City, “Central Synagogue”, #59240, rare, beautiful – if not absolutely stunning. Limited just to year it was produced! Central Synagogue, located at 55th and Lexington in Manhattan’s Upper East Side , is the oldest synagogue. In continuous usage in New York City. Since 1839, the synagogue has provided a place for Jewish people to. Gather in worship and as a community. This has been a cornerstone of my collection. I love the colored glass windows and the architectural details that come to live even more when illuminated. Comes with light string and bulb. Excellent condition in original box, never displayed. This item is from a very large collection of Department 56 items that were very well cared for and many never displayed. All displayed items were inspected before being boxed up and any. Deficiencies or flaws noticed are noted in the condition notes above. The original owners did have a labrador retriever so there could be some light dander on the boxes or items, however, this collection was under plastic for the past few years and the owners kept the collection very clean. That some of the pictures on the Department 56 boxes show the figures or items with accessories (trees, snow, etc) that may not be included. Please see the pictures and ask any questions you may have before purchasing. Also, we do offer. In some cases but it depends on the size and weight of items. Department 56 was founded in 1976. Originally, it was part of Bachman’s, a retail florist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bachman’s employed a numbering system to identify each of its departments. The number assigned to the wholesale gift imports division was 56. He was a talented employee of Bachman’s who won the Minnesota State Florist Association’s 1964 Designer of the Year competition. Bazinet was a 1996 Gift for Life honoree for his support to HIV/AIDS research, education, prevention, and treatment. In 2005, after purchasing Lenox from Brown-Forman, the company changed its name to “Lenox Group Inc” and its ticker symbol to “LNX”. Lenox filed for bankruptcy in 2009, and was acquired by the private equity firm Clarion Capital Partners. Enesco acquired Department 56 from Lenox that year. The Egg Nog Pub. Department 56 has been headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota since June 25, 1991. As of May 2015, the company had about 30 employees, and its sales had grown seven to eleven percent per year over the prior four years. About two-thirds of sales are via smaller gift and Christmas shops, but the most recent growth has been through national retail stores, with Amazon also among the biggest customers. 56 Christmas In The City #56.59204 Central Synagogue. It stands 10 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches long and 9 inches wide. It had been displayed and is in good condition. It is a part of the Historical Series. The Central Synagogue, located at 55th and Lexington in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, is the oldest synagogue in continuous usage in New York City. Since 1839, the synagogue has provided a place for Jewish people to gather for worship and as a community. A small booklet telling you the history of the Synagogue is included. It is a great piece for your Christmas in the City display. The light cord is included too! The paper box is in good condition it has light wear from storage. This piece was limited to a one year production. The detail is really nice it would be a great addition to your village display.
