Shapiro, a Washington, D. Resident and government official whose Chicago Cubs memorabilia collection was widely considered one of the finest in the country (Wolfe, 25). Shapiro was former chair of the Emil Verban Memorial Society, the invite-only Chicago Cubs fan club of Washington, D. That has counted presidents and Supreme Court justices among its members.
