This item was never displayed by us and is in mint condition. They stated they never had the opportunity to display it eith er. Based on that information, I listed this as new. It is in it’s protective Styrofoam, and Black and Silver commemorative sleeve, also in great condition. The sleeve has a few minor scuff marks from shelf wear. The clear plastic that also protects this item is torn, as I had difficulty taking it out of the box for pictures. We removed it from the box twice; once when we inspected it when we first bought it and once now when I removed it from the box for these pictures and to verify that the light, cord with the on and off switch, and bulb are all working, which they are. The Lantern, which is often missing from other auctions, is also INCLUDED!!! IT WAS LIMITED TO PRODUCTION YEAR 2001 ONLY. This building is a replica of the Architects & Engineers Building where Department 56 was once located at 1200 Second Avenue, in Minneapolis, Minn. It is a beige brick building, where each of the first floor windows shows a display of the products that Department 56 produced at that time. On one side, the window displays are of the Snow Village, the next window is the Snow babies, and the third window is Heritage Village Collection. On another side of the building is a window display of the Reef. On the windows above, are the names of various famous artists, such as Davinci, Pascal, Le Duc, Ictinus, Richardson, Michelangelo, and Wren. See all twelve photos including the small lantern which is packaged in a tiny bag, and inserted in a space in the Styrofoam form that protects the building. There are no cracks or chips on this item.
