This Department 56 Christmas in the City building belongs to a mega Dept. She owns nearly every building in every village and couldn’t possible display them all – and now dearly needs to downsize! Although the outside cellophane wrap has long since disappeared, this 2007 release, very fun building has never been out of the box. I had to gingerly open it up to inspect it for you. It’s in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, nicks, ticks…………. Or all of the other words used to describe damage. I didn’t want to unwrap the light cord – but no doubt it works just fine. This building rarely appears, don’t wait for another – this is the one you want. This building receives a solid A+! RARE! NEW Dept 56 Christmas in the City Series HAMMERSTEIN PIANO CO. #799941

From the Christmas in the City Village. This is one of the rarer pieces for some reason, and it’s hard to find one that is brand new like this one. It has never been displayed and has only been removed from the box to take these pictures. As you can see in the pictures, the piano being lowered from the second floor is still in its factory-installed padding, and I didn’t want to remove it just to take pictures, but I was able to make sure that the piano was OK without completely unwrapping it. There is no damage of any kind on this piece. This piece was introduced in 2007 and retired in 2009. I have always believed that more accessories and landscaping make your display look more realistic. Here is your chance to acquire some of those accessories that will bring your display to life. Unfortunately, the end result now is that some of the pieces which I bought new from her are missing the bags, but that does not mean that they aren’t still brand new and never displayed. Another thing she was never really concerned with was all the paperwork that was contained in the boxes, so I make no guarantee that any of what was there originally will still be there.
